WE STOPPED ON THE MARLBOROUGH WINE TRAIL / OUR NZ ADVENTURE
New Zealand is world-famous for its vineyards, so we knew we had to include stops on our journey from Kaikoura to Picton. This drive took us right through the heart of the Marlborough region, and even as a non-wine drinker, I recognise the location from menus and supermarkets from the other side of the world.
We stopped at Fromm Winery, a modest cellar door with a unique twist on the classic Marlborough wine - most of their varieties are red. For my boyfriend, this suited perfectly, and he started a tasting which sort of ended up as quite the bargain deal! He went for the deluxe tasting, which cost $20 and included a whopping 15 samples. Each sample was at least half a small glass, so around 70ml. I'm terrible at maths, but even I can work out that he drank over a litre of wine in around an hour. Needless to say, I continued the drive to Picton.
