NEW AUTUMN TRADITIONS // THE PUMPKIN PATCH

It's been raining for weeks in England. While rain is nice when you're getting cosy with a Harry Potter film, it does make going out on the weekends for some downtime quite difficult. So, on Sunday, our first miraculous day without rain (!), I woke up with the idea to visit a pumpkin patch.

This tradition has always seemed overly American, so it's no wonder that I've never been to one before. We visited Crockford Farm in Weybridge, Surrey, a beautiful but small pumpkin patch with an amazing garden centre. We arrived at opening time, which was a good thing as it got super busy with lots of kids - though we did go during half-term holidays.

Because of all the bad weather we've been having (the aforementioned rain), they decided to pick the pumpkins as going into the fields ourselves wouldn't have been safe. They really got creative with the displays though: a huge ship, three colourful bathtubs and a wooden rowboat were among the decorations.

The changing leaves and dappled light made the farm look magical.
So many cute picture opportunities! Good thing I told my mum to "dress cute" hehe.

I am already looking forward to next year's visit.
